Our vision is to connect individuals with exceptionalities across Canada by sharing resources that offer holistic wellness, which leads them to purposeful and fulfilled lives.
Needless to say, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused major disruptions to our day-to-day lives. In this regard, the *exceptional community has been profoundly affected in very particular ways. In the face of these new realities, we saw there was a need to develop other options to respond to the particular needs of this community, while keeping them safe. Therefore we found an area of service that needed to fill the missing gap in this community. Our motivation is to share our passion to enhance the exceptional population to grow in their individualized goals and for them to have purpose in the community.
Sharing A Purpose (SAP), is a charity organization that aims to reach the exceptional community of youth and adults with an umbrella of resources, support mechanisms and workshops. Its three main mandates are:
1) Holistic Assessment – By obtaining a holistic picture of our participant’s well-being and lifestyle, we are able to provide collaborative goal setting and support in specific areas to enhance their lives. SAP will follow through with the goals by providing targeted workshops and other social/community and virtual based opportunities.
2) Make-It-Happen Benefit - As a charity organization, we hope to reach the lives of more people in Canada who need the extra assistance through the establishment of an application process for our Make-It-Happen Benefit. Through gracious donations, grants and fundraising, we want to be able to fulfill justifiable requests - e.g., resources, supplies or material items - to these deserving applicants.
3) Public Education – SAP intends to organize seminars and provide resources for the community and people with exceptionalities to guide them in keeping up with current mindfulness, well-being practices, and to assist in holistic approaches to improve their lives.
*Exceptional(ities) – refers to disabilities, giftedness and mental health concerns.
